Towards the station, a glass and steel hall opens up, creating more transparency for the railway. The hall is not only an urban synapse but also a platform for the development of additional functions, restaurants, shops and workplaces.
The generous urban concept of the garden station integrates the transport and infrastructure into the natural organism of the city. The designed train station is connected to the urban green chain by two adjacent linear parks. This creates a large open space in the centre of the action, allowing a multiplicity of activities from sports to public events. The barrier of the railway infrastructure is overcome by placing direct links of public space below the level of the railway lines and by adding interchange links to connecting bus, tram and car services.
