The industrial character of the house creates an visual dialogue with the adjacent building of the electricity plant designed by Jaroslav Fragner. The subtle construction becomes a counterpoint to the surrounding massive houses. This otherness underlines the value of the institution that the town library surely is and creates a memorable character of the house based on the context of Zálabí.
The resulting form of the house is represented by its lightness, fragility and the many fine details that reduce the scale of the building. This is also helped by the tectonic structure of the otherwise compact volume. The result is a pavilion that speaks a contemporary architectural language, a pavilion full of books that creates balance and a strong entity. The entire building, from the square to the roof terrace, is connected by a central atrium which dynamically runs through the building. This space arrangement allows for the creation of an airy, transparent space. This becomes a welcoming and intuitive environment for all visitors to the building, a breeding ground for social interaction.
